Couples love celebrating their weddings in the beauty and warmth of Portugal and family and friends enjoy attending weddings here.  The Lisbon area offers great venues for your celebration. The Anglican Church of St George and St Paul warmly welcomes enquiries from couples interested in celebrating their wedding ceremony or renewal of wedding vows in St George’s Church, Lisbon, or in St Paul’s Church, Estoril, or at their preferred location in the region.  Our chaplains have officiated weddings in Catholic chapels and other churches, as well as at more informal locations such as on the beach. Our Chaplain (Priest/Pastor) would be very happy to discuss your celebration and to bless your marriage. Please note that any celebration of a wedding must comply with the Portuguese law, which requires a preceding legal civil ceremony in your own country or here in Portugal beforehand.  In addition, venues other than the Churches of St George or St Paul must be arranged by the couple. We are pleased to celebrate wedding blessings for both Anglicans and Christians of all denominations.  Weddings are a joyous occasion and an expression of God’s love in the world. Jesus said: He who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, `For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?  So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not one put asunder."    Gospel According to Matthew 19.4-6 Fees for weddings and funerals held in the Chaplaincy are the euro equivalent and in line with those set by the Archbishop’s Council and approved by Parliament for the Church of England. There may be additional travel costs depending on distance. Please contact the Chaplaincy for the current charges:
