Remembrance Sunday

THIS SUNDAY SERVICE AT ST GEORGE’S

11 November, 10:45am

Note: NO SERVICE AT ST PAUL’S

Sunday, 11 November, 2018 is a special Remembrance Day marking 100 years since the end of World War I. All are all invited to attend this year’s Service in St George’s Church, Lisbon where a short ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m. in front of the Memorial Cross and wreathes laid in memory of the fallen. This will be followed by the Remembrance Service inside the Church.  An abbreviated Holy Communion will be celebrated in the church immediately following the service. There is no Sunday School but younger children will be supplied with activity sheets and crayons.

After the service HE Christopher Sainty, British Ambassador to Portugal invites members of the congregation to the Church Hall where light refreshments will be served from 12.30 pm to 2 pm.

CHAPLAIN’S HOLIDAY / PASTORAL CARE

The Chaplain will be away from 16 November to 24 November. Pastoral emergencies will be handled for St Paul’s by the Reverend Paula Rennie (Mobile: 925 325 067) and for St George’s by the Reverend Frances Le Blanc (Mobile: 912 439 934). If you are unable to reach one of the clergy, please contact the other.


REMEMBRANCE SERVICE IN ROLICA,

A BURIAL SITE OF THE PENINSULAR WAR

The annual Service of Remembrance, special this year commemorating 100 years of the end of the First World War, will be held on SATURDAY 10TH NOVEMBER at 10.55am at the cross on the Heights of Picoto, above Roliça. OS GUINNESS AT MEETING POINT – ST PAUL’S

Meeting Point (Baptist Church of Estoril) welcomes Os Guinness on November 18th at 4.00 p.m. at St Paul’s Anglican Church, where he will address the topic “Jesus Confronts Death”. All our welcome.

CHRISTIANITY EXPLORED AT ST GEORGE’S

A course exploring the Christian Faith though film, scripture and discussion. St George’s on Tuesdays through 23 November, 7pm.  Supper & Study.

LIFE EXPLORED
AT ST. PAUL´S

Our last meeting will be held on Wednesday 14 November from 18:00 to 21:00. A delicious light meal will be served. The last topic covered was `The Joyful God.´

CHRISTMAS CARDS

Christmas cards featuring the Nativity window at St George’s are available to order.  The cost is €1 each or 10 for €9.  They can be ordered on Sundays at both St George’s and St Paul’s and will be ready the following Sunday.
